The I’M SAFE Check Applied to Skydiving
Before every jump, a simple self-assessment can make the difference between a safe flight and unnecessary risk. The I’M SAFE checklist (Illness, Medication, Stress, Alcohol, Fatigue, Emotion) is a widely used tool in aviation to evaluate a pilot’s fitness to fly. Applied to skydiving, it helps each jumper quickly reflect on their physical and mental condition, identify potential red flags, and adapt their day accordingly.
This approach promotes safety, self-awareness, and responsibility, ensuring that every skydive starts with the right mindset.
